Beautiful sunny day today, first time it hit 80 all spring long. We had some good drying weather today and hope for much more this week. We were able to get into the lisianthus house and the tomato house and get some planting done this week. We still have spaces left in the CSA. You can get a membership form right here at the website!!
Almost 100 tomato plants went into one house and well over 2000 flower plants into this house. Most of the ground outside is still too wet; the ground squishes under our feet when we walk. As expected our selection of produce will be late getting to market. The weatherman says it was the wettest April on record. We must have had over 12 inches of rain last month.
I’ve been trying to use up the frozen roasted tomatoes from last summer. For lunch I made sauté tempeh with roasted tomatoes on a bed of Kale.
We sold loads of Kale to our favorite restaurant The Fork in the Road and to longtime favorite The East Lansing Food Coop.
Taylor’s first track meet finally after many meets cancelled . Wishing everyone a lovely spring week.
