CSA

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture is a creative, sustainable, farmer to consumer relationship. For your financial support you receive your weekly “share” of fresh produce for the growing season. We in turn provide you with the highest quality certified organic vegetables that reflect the diversity of our fields and the changing seasons. The quantity and variety will vary with the time of the year and the weather. Vegetables, many of which are heirloom varieties are selected for their outstanding flavor. Everything in your CSA boxes is grown on our farm. We do not buy and redistrubute produce. We are one of only a few certified organic CSA’s in Mid- Michigan.

How it Works.

For the 2020  can pick up on Monday 5:00 to 6:00 either on the farm ( 3378 Mason Rd, Owosso, Mi. 48867) or our Okemos/East Lansing pick-up site (5151 Marsh Road in Okemos, the site of the Meridian Farmers Market).  Your weekly box will be bursting with an abundant variety of fresh harvested certified organic vegetables. A blog at our website keeps you informed on farm news along with recipes, upcoming harvesting plans and occasional tips on vegetable storage ideas. A weekly e-mail sent to you will let you know what will be planned for your box the upcoming week. We welcome recipe contributions from CSA members.

Share sizes and Prices

Premium share:  Designed for a family of four or a vegetable loving family of two. Many vegetarian families choose this option  as there may be enough to freeze depending on the season. Also many families split this option with a friend or neighbor and share in the pick up chore. Cost for premium share for 2012 season is $600

Standard Share: Designed for a family of two with enough vegetables to be eaten in a week. Cost for standard share for 2012 season is $350

Flower Share: A big beautiful bouquet of flowers for you each week at pickup. This share runs approximately 10- 12 weeks from July to September, depending on the growing season. Cost for the flower share for the 2020 season $100

Feel free to contact us through this website if you have any questions. We are looking forward to a great season! We would love to have you in our CSA.

  1. I started becoming involved in understanding what my family and I need to know about eating organically grown food this year and am wondering when we can sign up for the 2014 CSA? How much food is considered enough for a family of 2? I know it depends on what vegetables are available at the time but could you give me an example? Thank you!
