I’m hoping to include some blog posts about food. I love to cook, most of the time that is. And it’s only natural to talk about food when we grow food for a living. We eat a vegetarian diet here on the farm and I feel I’ve collected some pretty cool recipes over the years. I did a very well received blog post the end of last summer on roasted tomatoes and since then I’ve wanted to do more food related posts. So here goes…
I am ever amazed by the people who hate tofu, hate tofu with ever even trying it.
“You hate tofu..really. Have you ever tried it”
“Well…. not really but it look so gross”
Here is a recipe for all you tofu-haters. I can confidently say that I have never had anyone who didn’t love tofu prepared this way. Pic are below recipe.
Roasted Tofu
1# firm tofu ( I always double the recipe because most of it gets eaten so fast)
2T olive oil
2T soy sauce
2 cloves finely chopped garlic (home grown/ from farmers market is way better than store bought)
Mix Olive oil, soy sauce and garlic in flat pan. Drain Tofu and slice into 1/4″ slices. Marinate tofu for 10-15 minutes flipping pieces over half way. Arrange on cookie sheet . Roast 385 degrees for 20-30 minutes flipping tofu half way. Store in tight container 1 week.
We add to rice, make tofu sandwiches, put on top of salads….Try it. I know you will like it.
Good Afternoon!
